Rene developed a comprehensive brand identity for Casa Magu in Mérida and MaguGoods.com, creating a cohesive visual language and storytelling system that resonates deeply with the target audience. Drawing from Mayan and Aztec motifs, he designed the distinctive "M" logo, infusing it with cultural richness and authenticity, while aligning it with the overarching visual design strategy. The name "Magu" was derived from the Maguey plant, with "Maguey" also serving as an acronym to further enrich the brand's identity.

Rene led both the branding and UX/UI design for www.magugoods.com, ensuring a seamless and intuitive digital experience. The website's design incorporated fluid, curvilinear motifs inspired by the organic shape of Casa Magu’s pool—the central feature of the property—creating a harmonious visual design system that reflects the hotel’s aesthetic. This approach resulted in a visually immersive digital space that tells the brand’s story while ensuring user-friendly navigation. Additionally, he crafted high-performing social media content and marketing assets, enhancing the brand’s digital presence and engagement.

For Casa Magu, Rene extended the brand’s visual language into the physical realm, carefully curating the boutique hospitality experience. By blending traditional architecture, locally handcrafted goods, and interior design, he designed an environment that tells a rich visual narrative. He also created a suite of branded physical touchpoints—welcome packets, key cards, thank-you cards, body care labels, and note cards—that reinforced the brand's visual identity. To further amplify this visual narrative, Rene abstracted elements from the "M" logo to design a custom mural within the boutique hotel, creating a striking and artistic statement that echoes the brand’s ethos.
